I mean.... come on. That's a huge Celebrity Line supercruiser.

Hubbard Glacier is easily one of the most incredible places I have ever witnessed. Sailing in from a fog bank, the mountains were suddenly revealed to us, with the glacier snaking its way down to the ocean from soaring Mt. Logan behind. We were still very far out at the time, and the glacier looked tiny, about the size of my thumbnail. It was only after looking through binoculars and seeing the massive cruise ship in front of the glacier dwarfed by the face alone that I began to realize the true scale of the glacier: largest tidewater glacier in the world, 500 foot face, more square area than Rhode Island. We then sailed further into the bay, pushing incredible icebergs aside and hearing thunderous cracks and pops around us from the glaciers on either side. 16,000 ft. mountains in every direction rose almost directly out of the sea.

This is the only shot I had that truly conveyed in any amount the scale of the glacier. I hope you enjoy.

Holland America cruise, two years ago.

one of the most amazing weeks of my life, aside from the sea-sickness.

Haha we went on Holland America too. It was amazing but the whole thing of being on a sealed boat really rankles me, because I'd so much rather go out and enjoy everything as opposed to watching it slide by. Also, lots of old people. But even so, it was an incredible trip for me, and I think I'm gonna be working up there next summer.

Yeah, I can agree to being stuck on board and all of the old people. It didn't help that when we went, we had terrible sailing weather, that not only made me really sick (I'm usually very tolerant) but caused us to not make one of our ports on the way home.

...did you sail out of Seattle?
